Seal Beach, CA

You have much to learn, Grasshopper...

Once again, Bob goes out to check on Logan's tomatoes and finds yet another surprise!... "Grab your camera, come quick!"

Young Grasshopper is just sitting there trying to blend in while having breakfast (our tomatoes!) I tried to get as close as I could without scarring him away. Just the thought of it hopping from the leaf onto my head is giving me the goosebumps!

As to Logan's tomatoes... they're coming along! I promise to get a good shot of them and post it up!

I'm a Big Girl now

After five years of sharing a room with her brother, Bailee is now enjoying her own room! The Princess has a Queen size bed of her own! This is a big step for all of us. My little girl is growing up!

Love Sunflower

On Easter the kids each got a kit to plant seeds. Logan got tomatoes and Bailee got sunflowers. When they were transplanted Logan's tomatoes just took over and took up just about the entire planter on our front porch. Only one of Bailee's sunflowers survived. I went out this afternoon to take pictures of all the tomatoes that are growing and couldn't help but notice Bailee's only sunflower.... the heart shaped center. Bailee's only little flower next to the giant tomato plants show nothing but love.

The love my daughter has for life and all living things comes through in this one flower.

Halloween Costume

So Logan shows up to the dinner table tonight wearing this... He says this is what he wants to be for this Halloween. He calls it "The Nightmare"

But looking at him closely, he's wearing a Captain Jack Sparrow shirt, his Darth Vader belt across his chest, his red power ranger glove on his right hand, his Super Man glove on his left hand and he's holding a Mickey Mouse light saber. I told him he can wear that for Halloween if he wants to, but when he goes up to the door to ask for candy and they ask, "and who are you?" - you tell them "confused"

Hot Summer Day

The temperature reached close to 90 today but it felt like it was in the 100's. I was determined to get in the pool today! So I'm blowing it up and... yup, blew it up! Too much air is not good. The pool has two inter tubes and that's where it busted. So we had a lopsided pool with a seeping air sound coming from various spots. We were also expecting Logan's classmate, Conner over so we had to make the most of it! Of course I would not be able to get in at this point... (obvious reasons) :( But the kids had a blast! They seemed to be nice and cool... while I sat and watched with sweat dripping from all over! Time to get a new one!

Griffith Observatory

So we're walking up to the Observatory and Bob stops, looks down and starts laughing. He sees the plaque of "Orbit of Uranus" and tells me how they always got a kick out of that one every time he came out. Then, as we walk up to enter the observatory, I do a double take at the sign up on the door. For a split second I thought it was a joke. Now, it wasn't only me, I then noticed quite a few people looking as confused as I did as they start to pull the door open.

This is the first time we've been out here since the remodeling and let me tell you... it's worth it! The kids really enjoyed the planetarium show and were amazed at all the exhibits on space and the moon and stars. We will definitely be going back soon! Maybe next time a little later in the evening to enjoy the view.

awaiting his arrival
